"Beth Galston: Luminous Garden"

Essay
by Jennifer McGregor

Inspired by her childhood walks through the fields of wildflowers, Beth Galston creates a beautiful glowing garden. The individual elements are cast resin forms in the shape of four-pointed water chestnut pods with a blue light embedded in each one. In this setting, Luminous Garden invades the cupboard, reaching out to the viewer with its myriad of blue flowers. The garden is breathing with life, growing out of any opening it can, with the delicate stems swaying in the wind.
