This series of stairway sculptures developed from small balsa wood models. The full scale stairway shape is "drawn" in wood or metal to create zigzagging forms that play with illusions—they appear flat, yet are also three-dimensional. The skeletal sculptures interact with light, casting shadows into the surrounding space.
